Porcelain stoneware: the easiest to clean and sanitise

Porcelain stoneware: the easiest to clean and sanitise
In addition to the possibility of decorating the interior and exterior spaces of your home in a creative, harmonious and elegant way, reproducing the effect of other materials such as stone, marble and wood, porcelain stoneware is also a guarantee of cleanliness and hygiene.
In fact, thanks to its technical characteristics obtained during the manufacturing processes, porcelain stoneware is 'greified', i.e. with almost zero absorption, similar to glass. Thanks to this non-absorbency, stains and dirt only remain on the surface and do not penetrate the material permanently. In addition, porcelain stoneware is easy to clean, even with non-professional materials.

Porcelain stoneware excels in hygiene standards

Consider, for example, that according to the ISO 10545-14 standard, there are five categories of "ease of cleaning": the lower the class (Class 2 requires the use of solvents such as acetone to remove a stain), the more aggressive and professional materials are required to clean and sanitise surfaces. Porcelain stoneware is required to be at least Class 3 (use of strong commercial cleaning agents), but often also reaches Class 5 levels (hot water), i.e. hot water is sufficient to remove a stain from porcelain stoneware. At the same time, porcelain stoneware is ultra-resistant, which means that it does not require specific and frequent maintenance and, above all, ensures that surfaces do not crack or chip, damage that would become a build-up of germs and bacteria and difficult to clean.

This is why, after a pandemic period such as the one we have just gone through, and in places where hygiene is more than essential such as hospitals, porcelain stoneware is the most suitable and versatile option. But that's not all. Many spas and wellness and/or thermal centres have also converted to porcelain stoneware, a wall and floor covering that can reproduce all the materials belonging to our culture, such as wood and marble, and to the culture that wellness centres hand down, while meeting much higher standards of cleanliness and hygiene, due both to the intrinsic properties of porcelain stoneware and to hyper-modern technologies. For example, our supplier Ragno has patented a technology, called CleanOut Antibacterical, consisting of the application of a silver ion treatment during the production phase, killing bacteria and microbes by up to 99.9% in the short and long term.
The AVA ceramiche and La Fabbrica brands have also patented a dedicated technology called "Advance"

And you, how important do you consider hygiene in room cleaning? With Onetile you can have the Top of the Range in factors of hygiene, quality and aesthetics, without renouncing the effect that materials such as wood and natural stone can provide.
